Programme Aim

This qualification is for you if you wish to work as a dry liner in the construction industry. Dry lining is the fitting of plaster board or other board material to finish walls and ceilings, in place of the more traditional plastering. Many modern domestic and commercial properties will be finished with dry lining instead of plaster, and this qualification will provide you with the skills needed to work as a dry liner in the industry.
The qualification covers health and safety and principles of the construction industry with trade specific units covering the installation of ceiling systems, partitions, wall linings and encasement systems.

Entry Requirements

  • Education: City & Guilds/CMETB have not set entry requirements for this qualification. However, care must be taken to ensure that learners have the potential and opportunity to gain the qualification successfully.
  • Aptitude: Learners who are ready to take on new tasks, can follow direction and are moving towards independent learning.
  • Previous Experience: No previous experience required.
